Getting Around

Tenerife is easy to navigate. The public buses are a cheap way for visitors to explore the island. They are comfortable and air-conditioned which leave from most of the main resorts regularly and stop at the island’s most famous attractions. The smaller, local buses are slightly less reliable. Most holidaymakers tend to use taxis and hire cars as it offers that extra flexibility during your stay however. Hiring a car is cheap, easy, and highly recommended. The island’s main roads are easy to navigate and well looked after, and for reference, driving is on the left.

Top 5 Things to Do

Explore Teide National Park. The park is a great place for an afternoon of hiking, especially during the slightly cooler winter months. You can even get a cable car to the top to take in the stunning views.

The Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife is the second biggest carnival in the world – not bad for a relatively small island! It is held each February so coincide it with a family holiday to Tenerife and you'll never forget it!

The awe-inspiring Acantilados de Los Gigantes, or 'Cliffs of the Giants', in Tenerife are a remarkable testament to the Canary Islands' volcanic origins. Start off in the town of Los Gigantes and embark on a scenic hike along the cliffside trails for a memorable day out.

Take an afternoon away from the beach and explore the northern city of San Cristóbal de La Laguna. The architecture here is simply stunning and you’ll get some amazing snaps for your holiday album.

Tenerife's climate provides the perfect conditions for producing outstanding wines, and Reverón Vineyard stands out among them. Indulge in a curated sampling of four distinct wines while touring the vineyard's lush vines and historic cellars, making for an unforgettable journey through Tenerife's vibrant wine culture.

Hit the Beaches

Hit the Beaches

What is your preference – golden grains from the Sahara or volcanic black sand? Whatever you prefer, you will be spoilt for choice on Tenerife holidays.

The best places to head to are the beaches of Costa Adeje, La Tejita and Playa del Duque, all of which regularly top many ‘best beaches’ lists and are perfect examples of what Tenerife beach holidays are all about.

Palm trees, crystal clear waters ideal for snorkelling and little restaurants ideal for a lunchtime visit are in plentiful supply and with a year-round climate you can experience these beaches in January or July!

There’s a beach for everyone in Tenerife. In the southwest where most of the resorts are located, you'll find golden-sand beaches offering an array of amenities and family-friendly waters. Venture to the island's northern region for striking, dark-sand beaches whereas for windsurfing enthusiasts, visit the southern coast, where optimal conditions await.
